Happy New Year!

Next week will mark the return of children's programming at OCPL. Story Time theme for January is Winter Wonderland. Kid's Fun Day will resume on Thursday January 6 at 11:00 AM in the Upper Market of Wheeling's Historic Centre Market. In case of a delay or cancelation by Ohio County Schools, Kid's Fun Day will be canceled. Please call the library at (304)232-0244 to confirm if you are unsure. Theme for the day will be Happy New Year (letter of the week is N). On Monday January 10 at 6:00 PM we will be showing "Despicable Me". Popcorn and drinks will be provided. we will have a Campfire Fun program on Friday January 21 at 12:00 Noon in the auditorium. Pastor Bob Willits (and his trusty guitar) will be our special guest. Join us for singing around the campfire and a snack.

Thank you all for a fantastic 2010. The Children's Department served 14,660 people through programs, tours, and outreach in 2010. We are thinking back on all the great times we had and looking forward to a bigger and better 2011.

An Irish Country Christmas

Patty Cooper of the West Virginia Humanities Council will present "An Irish Country Christmas" on Thursday December 9 at 6:00 PM in the library auditorium. Ms. Cooper will portray an Irish immigrant as she shares her memories of Christmas in Ireland. Call (304)232-0244 for more details.

A big thank you to everyone who got bundled up and braved a cold, snowy Ohio Valley night for our Holiday Ho Ho Ho Show by the Pittsburgh Puppet Works! We had an amazing 111 people on hand for all the jokes, songs, dancing, and laughs. Thank you again for your attendance. We are truly blessed with fantastic patrons!

Holiday Puppet Show TONIGHT!

At 6:00 tonight, Monday December 6, the Pittsburgh Puppet Works will be putting on their Holiday Ho Ho Ho Show! The Chris Mouse Tale will delight children of all ages. After the show there will be cookies and punch. We hope that you will come out this snowy night for a real holiday treat.
