READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY!


The Ohio County Public Library will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday on Tuesday March 2. This has been declared "Read Across America" Day. Lots of fun programming for kids of all ages is scheduled.
* 10:00 AM Dr. Seuss Story Time
*12:00 Noon Lunch With Books: Hear Seuss stories read by Howard Monroe and Sherry McCutcheon and songs from the Broadway Play "Seussical" by Anielle Troyan.
*1:30-3:30 PM Read Across America Day @ Centre Market: Fun, games, crafts, and Seuss stories by guest readers.
1:30 Jody Coleman: The Cat in the Hat
2:00 Wheeling Police Chief Matheny: And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street
2:30 Magistrate Joe Roxby: Green Eggs and Ham
3:00 SMART Science Center: Bartholomew and the Oobleck
This year we will also be celebrating with our 4th Annual Bake a Cake for DR. Seuss Contest. Children are invited to decorate a cake and bring it to the library for the contest. Children must be registered by Friday February 26 to participate. Cakes must be dropped off at the library before 5:30. Everyone is invited to attend the birthday party for Dr. Seuss in the library auditorium at 6:00.

Imagination Library is coming to Ohio County!


Ohio County has been selected to participate in Imagination Library. Imagination Library is for children from birth to 5 years old. The program provides a book to be delivered to the child's home each month at no charge. All children birth to 5 and living in Ohio County are eligible to participate. We will launch the program on Thursday March 18 from 3-6 PM with a carnival themed party. There will be food, games, prizes, magic, face painting for kids and lots of local agencies will be on hand to provide information for families. Everyone is invited.
