New at OCPL

Scat by Carl Hiaasen
Bunny Starch, the most feared biology teacher ever, is missing. She disappeared after a school field trip to Black Vine Swamp. And, to be honest, the kids in her class are relieved. But when the principal tries to tell the students that Mrs. Starch has been called away on a "family emergency", Nick and Martha just don't buy it. No, they figure the class delinquent, Smoke, has something to do with her disappearance. And he does! But not in the way they think. There's a lot going on in Black Vine Swamp than any one player in the twisted tale can see. And Nick and Martha will have to reckon with an eccentric eco-avenger, a stuufed rat named Chelsea, a wannabe Texas oilman, a singing substitute teacher and a ticked off Florida panther before they really begin to see the big picture.

The Odd Egg by Emily Gravett
Each of the birds has an egg...except for Duck. So when Duck finds a beautiful egg of his own he's delighted-even though the other birds make fun of it. But everyone's in for a big surprise when the egg finally hatches!

What a Good Big Brother! by Diane Wright Landolf
Cameron loves his new baby sister, but she sure does cry a lot. His mom and dad can quiet Sadie by changing her diaper, feeding her, and singing lullabies, but it takes a good big brother to turn a whimper into a smile!

But despite all their efforts, Princess Alicia found boredom wherever she went. Nothing could hold her interest for very long. That is, until she was presented with a most unusual gift.
